What are the benefits of membership?

As well as receiving all the online publications, Members receive WACC news through the quarterly international journal on communication, Media Development, the biannual Media and Gender Monitor as well as occasional publications, annual reports and other materials by post. Most Regions also produce a newsletter. In addition, members are invited to participate in WACC regional and global activities, such as Regional Assemblies, seminars and workshops as well as World Congresses. Regionally and globally members network and participate in online discussion groups. Membership also gives certain voting rights.

An invitation to WACC Membership

Membership is open to churches; boards and agencies of churches; councils of churches; publishing, printing and distribution houses; publications; broadcasting stations; video producers and film makers; programming agencies that disseminate religious material; educational institutions and secular communication organisations; and such other organisations and individuals that are sympathetic to the aims of the Association as laid down in the Christian Principles of Communication and the Memorandum and Articles of Association (download below).

WACC has eight Regional Associations: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North America and Pacific. Members are linked to the Region where they are located. Applications for membership require the approval of both the Regional Execuitve and WACC's Executive Committee. The approval process usually takes between two and three months following receipt of both the completed application form and the payment of the current year's membership subscription.

To apply for Membership:

Return the completed application form (which you can download below) together with payment of the membership subscription for the current year (payment details are also below) to the WACC Secretariat. Full instructions and additional information regarding membership are on the application form. Applications will not be considered until the membership subscription for the current year has been paid. If an application for membership is not approved, any payment made is returned to the applicant.

The annual membership subscription is 30.00 USD (Unites States Dollars) for Personal Members (40.00 USD in North America) and 100 USD for Corporate Members (120 USD in North America). Student Membership is available for 10.00 USD. To qualify for the Student rate, proof of status must be included with the application form and submitted each year with payment of the membership subscription..
