One-Year Projects (2007–2011)

The hopes and struggles of many communities and organizations are reflected in projects carried out in the period 2007-2011 and supported by WACC. In different ways and different contexts, these projects helped make a difference to peoples’ lives. They advanced the communication rights of marginalized communities; they promoted communication practices to help transform conflict and build peace; they supported efforts to increase gender-sensitive news media; they encouraged religious and community leaders to reduce HIV and AIDS stigma and discrimination; and they strengthened the voices of poor and excluded people. This searchable portal organized by theme and by country includes materials produced by the projects with the aim of sharing information and knowledge with others working in participatory communication for development and for greater social justice.
