L’Association mondiale pour la communication chrétienne (WACC) a élaboré et adopté un nouveau plan stratégique quinquennal qui guidera ses travaux jusqu’en 2016. Le plan a été approuvé par le conseil d’administration après un long processus de consultation auprès des membres, partenaires, donateurs, experts en communication et autres interlocuteurs concernés par l’avenir de la WACC.

WACC stakeholders – members, affiliates, regional associations, executive committees, directors, project partners, funding partners and staff – were consulted as part of a year-long process of strategic planning. The Stakeholder Report is a background document for the strategic planning process. The results were discussed on October 11 by WACC’s Board of Directors prior to taking important decisions about the future of WACC.

 What is our vision for WACC’s future? What is our self-understanding and our identity?

What is the context, what is the environment, in which WACC is going to operate in the future?

Who will be our partners and how do we want to be structured as a global organization?

These are questions which we want to address in our Strategic Planning Process. The context, in which WACC is operating, has changed significantly over the years – there are new challenges, but also new opportunities.

  By the end of 2011, WACC hopes to have in place a plan that will guide the work of WACC towards some key goals. How will it get there?  In order for strategic planning to be successful, the process is as important as the outcome.

There are four essential steps in arriving at a strategic plan.

I. Framing the process: What are the questions and issues to be discussed? By whom?

A strategic planning process doesn’t deal with every question and dilemma an organization faces. One of the first steps is to identify the most important questions for WACC to discuss given where it has come from, where it is now, and where it needs to go in the future.
