In the face of unprecedented global warming that threatens the land, livelihood and the very cultural survival of many Pacific Islanders, peace and environmental issues are considered to be two areas that could bring about a positive approach to this major challenge to the region. Communication through different mediums could play a major role in allowing the dissemination of information or transferring of knowledge on the concept of climate change, its effects, challenges and opportunities it can bring to the lives of the Pacific Islanders. The project is implemented in three phases. Phase one will raise awareness of the Association‟s members, church leaders, media organisations and vulnerable communities. Work in Phase two will concentrate on developing a climate change manual for use by the communities. Phase three will focus on disseminating information through workshops, seminars and public forums involving the Association‟s members, local churches and other interested stakeholders.
