Latvia has always been a multicultural and multidenominational country, with historically strong Lutheran, Catholic, Orthodox, and Baptist traditions. In today‟s context of increasing secularism, the role of the churches in public discourse is increasingly important. This project intends to bring together professional journalists and communicators from different denominations to provide news coverage of the life and traditions of different churches and regions of Latvia. The newspaper “Svētdienas Rīts” (Sunday Morning) published by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia is the only Christian newspaper in Latvia with a national circulation. The project will enable the newspaper to report on all Christian denominations in the country, as well as events of national importance. Together with an online version of the newspaper, it will engage Christians in dialogue and participation, overcoming mutual prejudices and contributing to the high potential of Christians acting as one.
