“I am very impressed with the great and important work that WACC is behind in many parts of the world. It has been very inspiring to visit the organization and hear staff talk about their work. I look forward to good cooperation opportunities in the future between WACC and DKM”, said Larsen.

DKM, a corporate Member of WACC, is an ecumenical organization that develops and provides communication solutions to organizations world-wide.

The media centre works together with the Council of Churches in Denmark, The Church of Denmark (Lutheran), Free churches and many Church organizations in both Denmark and abroad. It is a part of the Ecumenical network in Denmark, a member of WACC and Sat7.

DKM has developed and provided communication projects for more than 20 years. Founded in 1988, the centre initially focused on production of TV and radio programs, Education materials, Training courses, and Computer Games. Today, the centre, works in the areas of:

  • Production and development of communication solutions in text, pictures and film. This includes communication counseling and the development of concepts;
  • Providing Internet and new media solutions in Church based and other value based organizations;
  • Arranging seminars, courses, and conferences on communication and technology.
“We produce websites, films, Electronic and print magazines, advertising campaigns and other communication solutions for various organizations. Our goal is to help local communities, national associations and international organizations to communicate what they believe in effectively using new media”, said Larsen.

The Conference of European Churches and the Lutheran World Federation are just some of the various organizations that cooperate with DKM. The Centre has also been engaged in projects in India, Malawi, Tanzania and Sudan together with aid organizations.
  WACC’s General Secretary, Karin Achtelstetter, thanked Larsen for his visit and described the meetings as “fruitful and a learning experience for both institutions."

“During the past years, DKM has increasingly reached out beyond its national boundaries and has become a committed and reliable partner in ecumenical communication. I applaud Larsen for his visionary leadership", said Achtelstetter.
