WACC shifts to online publishing

As digital publishing continues to evolve dramatically, WACC has produced its first electronic annual report in a move towards a stronger digital presence and online platform.

WACC’s annual report will no longer be printed and distributed via the post office, but made available electronically on WACC’s web site.

This shift was prompted by WACC’s Strategic Plan 2012-2016, which recognizes new digital and social media technologies as predominant forms of information and communication in many parts of today’s world.

“As new technologies drastically transform the publishing landscape, WACC will make profound changes in the way its publications are produced and distributed”, said WACC General Secretary, Rev. Dr Karin Achtelstetter. “Most of the WACC publications will soon go digital to adjust to the new realities facing us today”, she said.

Achtelstetter was speaking during the meeting of WACC’s Executive Committee in Toronto when members had an opportunity to see the new version for the first time. She said that the move to explore new digital publishing opportunities responds to the need for low-cost effective ways of raising WACC’s profile.

The annual report is made available to WACC’s members and partners worldwide.
