Increased and stronger presence of indigenous women within their own organisations, and increased visibility of indigenous women as actors of development at the national level. This project has allowed continuity to the work of indigenous women after the 1st Summit of Indigenous Women and has allowed follow-up to some of the summit’s proposals. The training workshop make possible to undertake two campaigns at the national level regarding the needs and demands of indigenous women in Peru. Creation of an indigenous women’s communication team. Increased awareness of the need for a communication component in all development plans made by indigenous women. 63 indigenous leaders have acquired knowledge about the role of communication and have gained skills. Increased knowledge and skills have empowered indigenous women to be better able to advocate for their rights.
