Documenting Training on Non-Violence and Non-Sectarianism on DVD

Communication for Peace

Lebanon

The Lebanese Association for Civil Rights (LACR) organized workshops on non-sectarianism which were filmed and made available on DVD. This project was a co-partnership between LACR, the Heinrich Böll Stiftung and WACC. It was based around practical use of the training manual ‘How can we avoid being raised on sectarianism?’ Filming the activities resulted in two kinds of material: audiovisual training material for use in schools, universities and civil society groups, and a documentary for wider use in Lebanese society. The project trained 15 trainers (including five school teachers) and involved 88 participants; it also produced 1,000 copies of as brochure on the work accomplished. Beneficiaries of the project include the wider network of LACR affiliates, NGOs, training centres, schools and universities where LACR will be screening the DVD.
